Rev. Dwight Yoo
Head Pastor

Reverend Dwight Yoo was born and raised in the Greater Philadelphia area. Dwight graduated with a BA in Psychology from Rutgers University and has a Master of Divinity from Westminster Theological Seminary. He is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). He and his wife Paula were married in 2005 and have been blessed with three sons: Aiden, Evan, and Dylan. They are very grateful to be ministering together in this city they love and know so well.

Dwight enjoys watching and playing sports of all kinds. Since the latter becomes harder each year, he enjoys being able to coach as a way of spending time with his boys as well as serving the community. He also loves discovering new restaurants with Paula. Yelp has made this much easier for them. You just might spot him biking around West Philadelphia so be sure to stop him and say hello.

Samantha Kim
Interim Children's Ministry Director

Samantha immigrated to Philadelphia from her hometown of Toronto, Canada in 1999 to study at the University of Pennsylvania. She has attended Renewal since then and became a member in 2005. During her time at Renewal, she served in Emmanuel's Children's Ministry and Youth Group for a number of years and has also served Renewal's praise team, community groups, building committee, and diaconate.

Samantha had faithfully served in the Sunday School/Youth Group Ministry at Emmanuel Church (the church Renewal was birthed out of), where she gained valuable experience in leading Bible studies, providing personal care and follow-up with students, leading worship, and other ministry duties. Additionally, Samantha had also been coordinating supportive care for our families as part of the Renewal Diaconate.

Samantha works as an architect. She currently lives in the City Ave area with her husband, Ed, and her daughter, Isabelle. She loves baking, watching tv, and making lists.
