Iron Chef, v.Renewal 2009

The 20s & 30s Small Groups came together to witness the Iron Chef Competition, v.Renewal, in lieu of small group last Friday. The purpose of the event, organized by our sister Kayti Chung, was to provide an opportunity to invite our friends and co-workers to an entertaining and non-threatening church event, to support selected ministries Whosoever Gospel and Mukisa School through donations for dinner and for the entertainment (Bernard Chae, Laurie Fisher, Jon Chiew, and Dan Bak), and to just have fun and fellowship within the body.

The night consisted of three contestants with their sous chef assistants:

Abe Kim and Jenny Myung
Hoon Rhee and Sam Ng
Jenny Sounwoo and Kathy Ko

There were four judges: three judges pre-selected, and one judge who earned their spot as the highest bidder during a bid-off, as all the bids will go towards the selected ministries.

The competition allowed the contestants to create a three course meal, in which they each brought their own ingredients and cooking supplies, with an alotted time of 60 minutes to come up with their creations. The one challenge was for each contestant to somehow add the secret ingredient into their meals, which was Hershey's Chocolate. After many fierce and delicious rounds of hearing the judges give their scores, the champion was crowned. Congrats to Jenny Sounwoo and Kathy Ko for their "exquisite" dishes!
